What Is an Event QR Code?

An event QR code gives people a one-scan way to get to your event — whether that means opening your registration page, buying a ticket, or adding the event to their own calendar. Paired with a printable poster showing the event name, date, time, and location, it turns any flyer, invitation, or notice board into something people can act on instantly instead of typing a link by hand.

This tool builds the QR code and the poster entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded to a server.

How to Create an Event QR Code

  1. Enter your event details: name, date, start time, and location. These appear on your poster.
  2. Choose where the code should lead: paste your event page, ticket, or registration link — or switch to "Add to Calendar" if you don't have a page yet and just want people to save the date.
  3. Customize the QR code and pick a poster theme.
  4. Generate, scan-test, and download your poster (or the bare QR code) as a PNG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this event QR code generator free?

Yes. Generating and downloading an event QR code and poster with this tool is completely free, with no account required.

What's the difference between this and the Calendar Event QR Code Generator?

This tool is built for promoting an event — linking to your registration or ticket page and generating a shareable poster. The Calendar Event QR Code Generator is a simpler, calendar-only version: it just adds an event straight to someone's personal calendar, with no poster and no link mode. If all you need is that one action, the calendar-only tool is quicker; if you want a link to an event page, platform auto-detection, and a downloadable poster, use this one.

Can one QR code do both — link to my page AND add to a calendar?

A QR code can only encode one payload at a time, so this tool asks you to pick one mode. Most organizers with an event page prefer people go there first (it often has its own "Add to Calendar" button); the Add to Calendar mode here is for when there's no page to send people to.

Which event platforms does the auto-detection recognize?

Eventbrite, Meetup, Facebook Events, Google Forms, Ticket Tailor, and Zoom registration links are recognized automatically. Any other link still works fine — it's just encoded as-is without a detection badge.

Can I use my own logo or photo on the poster?

Not currently — this tool focuses on clean, theme-based poster designs generated from your event text. For a fully custom graphic, design your own flyer and add the QR code from the "Download QR Only" button.

Is my event information sent to a server?

No. Both the QR code and the poster are generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript.
