Event title
The title appears as the event name in the calendar. Keep it specific enough to remain meaningful weeks or months later.
Start date and time
The start date is required. A start time is available for timed events and hidden when the all-day option is enabled.
End date and time
The end fields are optional. When both are blank for a timed event, the generator creates an end time one hour after the selected start time.
Make sure the end date and time come after the start. The generator can create a QR code from inconsistent values, so this check should be part of your scan test.
Location
The location can contain a venue name, postal address, meeting room or online meeting URL. Whether an address becomes a clickable map link depends on the calendar application.
Description
Use the description for parking details, agenda notes, joining instructions or other useful context. Avoid adding confidential information because the text is encoded inside the QR code and can be read by anyone who scans it.
Reminder
The tool can include no reminder, an alert at the event time, or a reminder 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day or 2 days before the event.
The reminder is included as an iCalendar alarm. Calendar apps may preserve, replace or ignore that alarm according to their own settings.

Timed event
Use a timed event for meetings, appointments, webinars, classes and sessions with defined hours. Enter the intended start and end values, then confirm the duration after scanning.
If you leave the end fields empty, the event is generated with a one-hour duration.
All-day event

Leaving the end date blank creates a single-day event. For a multi-day event, enter the final date on which it runs. The generator handles the exclusive iCalendar end-date format behind the scenes.
How Time Zones Are Handled
The generator stores the date and clock time exactly as entered. It does not attach a named time zone or convert the event for attendees in other regions.
For example, an event entered as 6:30 PM is stored as 6:30 PM rather than as a moment tied to Asia/Kolkata, Europe/London or another zone. Someone importing it elsewhere may also receive 6:30 PM on their device.
When attendees are in different time zones, include the time zone clearly in the title or description. For international webinars and online meetings, a hosted calendar event with explicit time-zone handling may be safer.
iCalendar QR Code vs Google Calendar Link
This tool embeds iCalendar event data directly in the QR code. It is not limited to a single calendar service, but support depends on how the scanning device handles embedded event information.
A Google Calendar link works differently. It opens a hosted Google page where the event can be viewed and added. That approach normally requires internet access and may work best for Google Calendar users.
